Tumbleweed Park, Chandler, AZ- September 7, 2019

The Falcons finally got to race after a long summer of logging hundreds of miles and several workouts. The Chandler Invite was divided into races by grades. That means there were a total of 8 races to spread throughout the morning. The Freshmen boys started the day. Andrew Logan and Sam Espinoza ran their first HS 5ks running 20:43 and 20:58 respectively. Alessia Difillippo was our lone Freshmen Falcon in the Girls race- she ran a 28:09.

For the Sophmore races, Timmy Soukup finished 7th in a 17:16, Jon Barney 23rd in a 18:21, and Jake Hirsch with a 21:03. Maya Jenkins ran her first ever cross country race finishing 46th in 25:56 and Olivia Radack finished 62nd in 28:16.

The Junior Boys ran in a good pack up to the 2nd mile mark, showing some of their conditioning from the Summer. Nicholas Logan finished 12th in 17:30.9, Ian Rathsburg finished 17:35 in 14th, and Peter Schillinger finished 18:22 in 23rd.

Mat Barney and Luke Power were the last to race for the Falcons. Mat ran a strong race and finished 12th in 17:28. Luke Power finished 53rd in 20:26.

The Falcons will be back in action this coming Saturday at the Fountain Hills XC Meet.
